  It took a while but I think I distorted Elton enough without feeling really bad about destroying him! I like treading the line a little between what is and isn't enough. I hope you like it and please let me know if it isn't enough of a change. I know that they are a leap from the last iterations but these happened fast. I used my nature texture a little in all of the pieces (the waves). This one is representative of how Mr. John has overcome many things in his life and came out of it with love. Even though these things might have changed him some, he didn't let those things take him over. From what I've seen online he seems like a really nice person and has a lot of love to give. The pink in this image represents love but also Mr. John's struggle with his own sexuality. The squares that are everywhere represent the want to be honest with everyone and in a way show that he isn't ready to show the world who he is completely yet. The red again stands for love but...

 

  I tried cutting out squares and filling them with an image of water that I think gave a nice texture to the image. I am really liking how this one is turning out! 

  This doesn't seem like much but it took me a while and much frustration to make. It's not completed yet, but I thought I could post it for some feedback. I think I am going to add some hands grabbing the "framed image" and do something else to make Elton's face not look like himself so much. Maybe I'll make the hands look like they're pulling the image apart. I am going to go back and do some more to the last image I posted, but I wanted to take a break to try something new. Let me know if you have any ideas for  other versions!

 I've been playing in Photoshop and I really like where this is heading! I have been having trouble thinking of other things to do with the photo of Mr. John. If you have any ideas or think that I am doing something well let me know! I need all the help I can get. I don't know what it is but it's been harder for me to think of ideas.

  I chose water for my natural texture. I think it fits Elton John because he survived the rougher tides of his life and has successfully made it to a point in his life where there are calm waves.

I chose this photo of Elton John for project 2!  

  This is what I came up with! I decided to add toast because it's what ties a toaster and duck together; in a way they both eat bread. I know it could still be improved, but this is my first time using illustrator. I like it even though it doesn't really make sense. Be sure to look for the little toaster duckling hiding in the grass.
