Idea?

I'm thinking about maybe creating a GIF. Maybe something that has to do with all of the fires going on right now. I am thinking about a silhouette of a person going and building a town. Eventually the town grows to cover the page(?) and becomes widely popular (like L.A.). and then a large fire comes in and wipes it out which could end up making the perfect loop with the silhouette coming over to restart the process. Maybe this could be done with figures cut out with paper and then the fire effect was added in later with editing or something?

Final Cyclical (?)

For my last iteration I was experimenting with a few different things. I added my hands holding the planner to show that even though things are a mess right now I am the one who ultimately decided what I do. I tried adding pops of color and I think it's pretty successful. (My theme is mess)

It's raining... dominos?

I added more dominos like was recommended in class. I also made the gear shift more faint to draw less attention and be a sort of hidden thing. I made the ball bigger so it seems like it is blocking the road more. I also added the overlay I found during the last class meeting over the bottom of the planner so it looks like there is some more writing.

Metaphor with Overlay

  My word is mess.

More Mess

Image
My word is mess. I've tried to make it more messy with some clutter that's around the apartment. I added some sponge on the road to show an effort to keep everything clean while it all just gets dirty again.

Iteration

I got rid of my little hamster from the image and added an overlay of my journal. I think it ties the image together more and adds a nice effect. I am doing laundry tomorrow so I'll get some pictures of that and add it to the image.

Mess or Everyday

Image
My concept in one word is "Mess". I wish I could've been working on things more but it feels like everything is falling apart in my personal life and every time I try to work on this I can't really get anywhere. The thing on the top is a washing machine with my car's gear shift in it. It broke down this weekend in Asheville so I had to get towed from there and then my partner's parents had to come get us. I put the road because we can never get away from it and every time we drive it's a cycle of going somewhere and coming back. It's a similar thing with the gear shift and washing machine, we always come back (and they have their own cycles). I added my hamster because when I come home I see him. I am realizing that another concept could be "everyday". Sorry if I shared too much. Please let me know some more ideas if you have some. I'm feeling stuck.

My Contact Sheets

These are my photos! I am still figuring out what I am going to do but I'll get there somehow. I think I might go with the concept of "everyday", "mess", or "dirt/dirty". Maybe I'll take more pictures (I'll probably do that as I get a more clear idea of concept).
